Ali Haghighi-Mood, PhD

President and Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Ali Haghighi-Mood is Chief Executive Officer. He joined Cambridge Heart in January 1997 as a research scientist coming from an academic background. From 2000 to 2008 he served in various management positions within the company including Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer. During his tenure at Cambridge Heart, Dr. Haghighi-Mood has been a driving force behind the company’s research and development efforts. He is the inventor of a number of US and European patents including the company’s proprietary technology, the Analytic Spectral Method® for the Measurement of T-Wave Alternans. Dr. Haghighi-Mood holds BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tehran and a PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Sussex, UK.

Vincenzo LiCausi

Vice President, Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Vincenzo LiCausi is Vice President of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer. He joined Cambridge Heart in October 2006 as Corporate Controller. Prior to joining Cambridge Heart, Mr. LiCausi was employed by Bard Electrophysiology, a division of C.R. Bard, serving in various positions including General Accounting Manager. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. LiCausi was Senior Financial Analyst of Planning & Analysis with Tropicana Products, a division of PepsiCo. From 1997 to 2001, Mr. LiCausi was a Senior Auditor for Deloitte & Touche, Boston. Mr. LiCausi is a CPA and has a B.A. in Accountancy from Bentley College in Waltham, MA.

Lahn Fendelander

Vice President, Clinical Affairs

Lahn Fendelander is Vice President of Clinical Affairs. Ms. Fendelander has over 15 years experience in the medical device industry and joined Cambridge Heart in 2007 after four years in Research & Development at Boston Scientific. She is a co-inventor on a number of patents related to the company’s core technology and has co-authored several publications on cardiac arrhythmias. Ms. Fendelander holds a BS degree in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University and an MS degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Medical College of Virginia.

Paul C. Slater

Vice President, Sales and Marketing

Paul Slater is Vice President, Sales and Marketing. He comes to Cambridge Heart with over 20 years of experience in the medical device industry. Paul was most recently Director of Operations with Medical Imaging Resources (MIR) for the past two years with responsibility for day-to-day operations, strategic direction and new product development. Prior to 2009, Paul was with Siemens Medical Solutions, Inc., where over the past 21 years he held various International and National Sales and Marketing positions with increasing responsibilities, achieving high double digit gains in sales with increased profitability, market coverage and market share. Paul holds a BS, Biomedical Engineering, from Texas A&M University and an MBA, International Technology Management, from the University of Phoenix.
